9. Do you think ALL GROWN UP gives younger punks hope that they don’t have to worry that they are just going through a phase?

I hope that it will! I hope maybe it will show some of the younger punks that it’s ok to be themselves and it’s not just them and their small group of friends that feels this way. It’s a worldwide community and we’re all in it together. It doesn’t have to end when you “grow up” – it gets better!

10. How is Marty Munsch involved with ALL GROWN UP?

I interviewed Marty for the movie in the spring of last year and parts of that interview were in a 23 minute preview version of AGU that I produced in May of 2006 (it won Best NJ Film in the 2007 NJ Film Festival). Parts of that interview will also be in the feature length that’s being released in December. Marty has also helped me with a ton of things – he got our main website up and running at AllGrownUptheMovie.com and does the updates on it. He’s also helped with a bit of the graphic design for movie posters and will be helping with the audio editing of the film.

11. New Jersey’s own U.S. Chaos is featured in the movie. It’s great seeing the perseverance of the band through the years. What are your thoughts?

I think it’s great when any band keeps it together for so long – it’s just another proving point showing that it really isn’t just a phase! I personally really like US Chaos and I think that even though there may have been some ups and downs, they as individuals have stayed some of the most genuine people I’ve met. The entire film is dedicated to the memory of their late guitar player Gary Reitmeyer. Without him and his advice I never would have even dreamed of turning All Grown Up into a feature length film and I feel so lucky that I got the chance to know him. So like I said, it’s awesome they’ve been together for so long and have kept it going. Not only are they a great band but great people as well.

12. How many bands are included in the movie?

That answer would depend on if you mean interviews, music clips, or both. Over 10 bands (or members of bands) are included with interviews but there are a lot more that have just music clips. The movie doesn’t really focus at all on the music but more so on people’s personal lives and personal experiences with punk (that’s why there aren’t so many interviews). There are an equal number of interviews with people who aren’t in well known bands that are just punks living their lives day to day.
